Greek Life

Why I Love Being Greek At The University Of Cincinnati

Going into college I swore that I would never become a sorority girl. Soon I realized that within my intense classes making friends was challenging. I never had enough time to sit down and meet people, and when I did I never felt a real connection to them. I became extremely close to a group of 4 girls during my first few months of college. Recruitment was right around the corner and they were all registered to participate. I denied the offers and their constant advice to just simply sign up for recruitment. My excuses were that I couldn’t afford it, didn’t have time, and wasn’t that type of girl. One day I received an email thanking me for registering to go greek, but I hadn’t. My friends had registered for me just incase I changed my mind when it was past deadline. A few days before recruitment all my

How Extra Credit Saved My Life

In high school doing extra credit was something that you didn’t have to do, but was kind of forced to do anyway. In a way, I just wanted to get the assignments out of the way, but then again I was thinking to myself, “What if I make a bad grade and don’t have any extra credit opportunities left?”   Luckily, I followed

True Life: I Realized “Home” Isn’t My Home Anymore

During my first year of college I wasn’t used to being away from home or my friends and family so any time I was able to go home I would jump at the chance. It was something that I always looked forward to and would get excited about because I would finally be able to hang out with my friends and family again (and sleep in my own bed). But as the year ended at I found myself at home for the entire summer with the realization that being home wasn’t as fun as I remember. All of my friends had gotten jobs and had gotten used to their lives without me in it so it became harder to try and hang out with them all. On top of that I had gotten used to my life in another state and being busy so often that coming back to a place where I had barely
