How Each Major Is Seen On Campus

Every major is not made equal. There are different aspects of each field of study that attracts different people. I’ve been a part of a few majors myself, so I can attest to the fact that the classrooms are filled with sometimes totally opposite groups of students. When I started with bioengineering, it was uncommon to see more than a few girls in all of my classes. That’s not to say that they shouldn’t be there; I think more female engineers is exactly what the field needs. But realistically, the major often draws more males than females. Then I switched to kinesiology, where the reverse is almost always true. All of my classes are much more balanced. There are also more athletes present, since that’s obviously what kinesiology tries to attract. Ultimately, some stereotypes are fulfilled when a major is looked at. It’s not supposed to be offensive; it’s just

Each Place You’ll Try to Meet a Girl

Everyone handles their first couple weeks on campus differently. The weather is still warm, so it isn’t hard to find people playing soccer or throwing a Frisbee. Some guys will be playing video games during all of their free time because they never got to when they lived with their parents. Some people will hang out at the gym consistently, doing their best to take advantage of the amazingly huge rec on campus. Whether it’s any of these things, or whatever it is that you did (or are doing now), everyone eventually realizes that the best part of being on a college campus is being with thousands of people you’ve never met before. It’s exciting to constantly introduce yourself and search for new friends. It would be hard to hang out around all these new people and not find yourself attracted to a ton of them. If you’re a guy,

10 Struggles Only Miami University Students Understand

My first year on campus at Miami University was an amazing year. As a big transition year, I had a lot of learning to do about how life works when you are in total control of your time, and you don’t have to rely on parents. It was fun going to get dinner twice (which definitely showed at the end of the year) and hanging out with friends whenever I wanted. I loved the entire year. That isn’t to say that there were some rough patches. A lot of things happened that most students across the nation would understand and relate to, but there were quite a few problems that only Miami students would get. 10. Of course, everyone knows the horrible pain of getting food on the weekend on campus. Most dining options are closed for almost the entire weekend, so only dining halls are available and a few

Every Bar in Your College Town Described Perfectly

When the weekend hits, everyone leaves their last class thinking the same thing; it’s time to head to the bars. Even if you aren’t a huge drinker, the social atmosphere is undeniably fun, and most people would rather spend a night out than hanging out at home watching T.V. (don’t get me wrong, both are still pretty great). Once the rest of your friends get out of their classes and meet up with you, the most important decision of the entire weekend is made. Everyone has their favorite bar, bars they like to go to, bars they’d rather avoid, and bars they won’t set foot in. Your college town probably has a wide assortment, but I would be willing to bet most of them would fall into one of the following categories. 5. The first bar is the one that ninety percent of college campuses definitely have, and that statistic

13 Things A College Student Experiences At A Football Game

13 Things A College Student Experiences At A Football Game

I played football for eight years, so when I started school, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a huge-name football team. It wasn’t like a game at Ohio State or Alabama. But once you get past the fact that the crowd is a tenth the size of a Big Ten team, you start to notice that it is still a ton of fun. After the end of the first season, I gladly said I did not miss a single home game. After comparing my experience to a lot of my friends’, there were a lot of similarities about what went through our heads during the games. In fact, there were about thirteen similarities… 13…Starting first with how the weather quickly changed week to week. The first game of the season everyone showed up thinking that we would lose a few people in the crowd to heat stroke. 12.
