The time has finally come, it’s summer break and thank God this semester is over. It’s all overwhelming with excitement; Seeing your parents, not having to pay for your own food, your real bed at your real home (nothing is more comfy). All this is great, and even seeing your hometown friends gives you uncontrollable nostalgia, but also reminds you how much you’ve grown and changed as a person. Mix this with alcohol and you realize that you forgot how you all get when you drink together. 10. Hearing every success story and only having stories about out going out. So you landed a summer internship already, got straight A’s, and started a new club on campus? That’s great! I went out 14 days in a row before finals week?
How It Feels to Have Never Been in a Serious Relationship
I’m twenty and I’ve never been in a relationship that’s lasted longer than a month or two. But so what, right? I’m only twenty. I still have my entire life ahead of me! I have goals and aspirations and things to learn about myself before I can properly settle down with someone. But it doesn’t always feel that way. Sometimes it just sucks, especially when it seems like everyone around me is in a relationship. There’s been times when I’ve wallowed in self-pity because I somehow convinced myself I’d be #foreveralone (I even have the tweets to prove it). And there’s been times when I thought it was the end of the world, like when I almost didn’t have a prom date and for some godforsaken reason I had to have a date or I wouldn’t go. Instead of thinking that I have my whole life ahead of me, I start wondering why I’ve never been in a serious relationship. I start to analyze every relationship
17 Thoughts of the Party Wallflower
Some people find parties to be exhilarating, filled with excitement, friends, and loud music. Others, like myself, are secretly eighty years old on the inside and would like nothing more than to sip a cup of tea and pet cats every Friday for the rest of my life. However, sometimes, these others are placed or put themselves in less than desirable social situations, and end up being the party wallflower, watching, and only judging a little. 17. “I could party… or I could watch Friends again on Netflix.” 16. “It’s Friday, I think my laptop is concerned for my wellbeing – I should go out.” 15. “What do the kids wear at parties nowadays? Are jeans still a thing?” 14. “This many people in one room is definitely a fire hazard.”
Please Stop Assuming You Can Read My Body Language
I’ve had my fair share of times when people think that they know exactly what I’m thinking or feeling based on my body language. My arms are crossed? Well that must mean one of two things: I’m cold or I’m angry. Wrong. I’m slouching in my chair in class? That means I don’t really care about what’s being taught or I’m not paying full attention. Wrong. I’m not smiling or laughing at something my friend just said? Obviously I don’t like what she said. Wrong. The truth? Sometimes I just feel like my arms are awkwardly hanging by my sides so I’ll cross them because it’s comfortable. I have a tendency to slouch in class because the desks are uncomfortable and if I’m going to have to sit in one for an hour and a half I’m going to make myself as comfortable as possible. I don’t find it necessary to smile or laugh at
How Girls REALLY FEEL When They’re Sitting On Tinder
We’ve all tried this once or twice, some of us are more vocal about it than others-yes we’re talking about Tinder. If you’re a college student you probably have tried this hot new dating app, that allows you to meet others in your area. It’s as simple as swipe left for “no” and swipe right for “yes”, from there leads to awkward conversations that typically die out in minutes or can lead to a night of fun. If you’re a college girl on Tinder, you definitely have had these 17 thoughts. 17. I’m lonely, maybe I should try this out. It’s a boring Friday night and your roommates are all out and you want attention from a gentleman. Tinder is full of thirsty boys ready to swoon over you, so you download the app, full of hope. 16. What’s the harm right? I’m sure I could find SOMEONE on here. 15.
