Theta Phi Alpha – Epsilon Chapter is located here in the beautiful Queen City: Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded at The University of Michigan in 1912, Theta Phi currently has 53 active chapters across the United States with The University of Cincinnati’s being one of the largest. This 2015 bid day Theta Phi welcomed 53 new members into the sisterhood, including yours truly – and this is how we celebrated. If there’s one thing that college students love, it’s Netflix. We can usually be found watching it between classes, late at night, with friends, etc. There are tons of TV shows and movies to choose from for whatever kind of mood you’re in or for whatever time of year it is (i.e. Halloween and Christmas), but there’s also a lot of shows and movies on there perfectly define college life. 10. Mean Girls When you have a mental breakdown because of all the stress you’re under. 9. Doctor Who When classmates ask how you did so well on the last test. 8. Lost Girl When you walk around campus in sweats and your hair’s a mess. 7. Gilmore Girls When coffee is basically the only reason you’re even alive. 6. Friends When you and your friends decide you want to get food but no one wants to get up so you call for delivery.
To my Netflix account, You and I have been together for a few years now. I’ll admit that at first I was slightly timid towards you because I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but now you are one of the most important things in my life. I still remember how we met. It all started out when my brother signed up for a free trial. Then after a while I realized that I needed more of you in my life. I would see your bright name in the darkness and realize that you were exactly what I needed. However, sometimes you take things a little too far. You only want what’s best for me, but sometimes it’s just overbearing. I know that you don’t want me wasting my life away watching TV shows, but I think after I click “continue watching” once, you should get the hint. I thank you from the bottom of
Looking for the perfect Halloween costume is one of the biggest struggles out there. There are so many ideas out there that picking just one, let alone the perfect one, is a process that takes some time and effort. Not to mention creativity and a few trial and errors. 10. Picking a concept/theme. There are tons of movies, celebrities, themes, stereotypes, etc. for you to choose from so your possibilities are endless! If you have absolutely no idea where to start, try listing off your favorite celebrities, movies, tv shows, etc. because that’ll at least give you a place to start. If you pick something more general (i.e. Once Upon a Time or the seven deadly sins) then you just have to narrow down your choices and decide upon one character or idea (i.e. the Evil Queen or lust). 9. You have thought about it long and hard, and you decided to stay in a relationship or start a relationship during college. This can be a complicated situation, especially if it is a long-distance relationship. Regardless, here are some reasons why it is OK to be in a serious relationship during college. 11. You CAN Still Have Fun/Friends If you’re with the right person, they will accept your friends. If you’re really lucky, they will love your friends and become really close with them. This way, you can all have fun together all the time! A smart lyricist once said, “…if you wannabe my lover, ya gotta get with my friends…” This is a quote we should al strive to live by. 10. It Teaches You Time Management You either see your S.O. everyday, or you text/call them for 18 hours out of the day. Being so devoted to another human leaves
