10 Things You Should Stop Wasting Your Meal Points On

There comes a time every semester when we start to run low on our meal points, but for some reason we can’t bring ourselves to stop wasting money on things we know that we don’t really need. Eventually we end up with no money at all and we immediately start to regret our poor finance skills, but at the time it didn’t really matter. All that mattered was how much you wanted that chocolate bar or that bag of chips. If you’re one of those people then you should definitely stop wasting your meal points on these ten things. 10. Late night meals If you’re like me then you probably end up getting food in the middle of the night because your friends invite you to get food with them. You say you’re not hungry but when you actually walk into the building you find yourself buying food whether it’s a full meal or a simple brownie sundae.

Greek Life

Why I Love Being Greek At The University Of Cincinnati

Going into college I swore that I would never become a sorority girl. Soon I realized that within my intense classes making friends was challenging. I never had enough time to sit down and meet people, and when I did I never felt a real connection to them. I became extremely close to a group of 4 girls during my first few months of college. Recruitment was right around the corner and they were all registered to participate. I denied the offers and their constant advice to just simply sign up for recruitment. My excuses were that I couldn’t afford it, didn’t have time, and wasn’t that type of girl. One day I received an email thanking me for registering to go greek, but I hadn’t. My friends had registered for me just incase I changed my mind when it was past deadline. A few days before recruitment all my

How Social Media Can Help You Land Your Dream Job

We have all heard teachers and parents tell us, “Careful what you put on the Internet. It is permanent.” While that is totally true, it should not scare you if you are utilizing social media correctly. I firmly believe that how we use social media can put us in the company we belong in. For example, I tweet a lot (maybe too much) about the New York Mets and baseball. If an employer sees that on my social media after receiving my application and does not like it, then I can easily say that I would not like working for them. If they do not want to hear about baseball, I am probably not a great fit for them, nor are they for me. Even further, if an employer likes my baseball tweets but does not like any of my other, more casual tweets, then my personality would not mesh well within that

How Extra Credit Saved My Life

In high school doing extra credit was something that you didn’t have to do, but was kind of forced to do anyway. Some classes would give you these extra assignments for something as simple as staying after school and help clean or show up to a school event. I rarely did extra credit in high school because my grades were already high enough, but in college extra credit is COMPLETELY different. The first few weeks of my freshmen year some of my professors said there will be extra credit towards the end of the semester, and others gave out extra credit opportunities as soon as we walked in on the first day. In a way, I just wanted to get the assignments out of the way, but then again I was thinking to myself, “What if I make a bad grade and don’t have any extra credit opportunities left?”   Luckily, I followed

Why I Am OK Moving Post-Grad

I have always been someone filled with wanderlust and a natural curiosity for the way people live, even if it is only a few towns over. I tend to wonder where people go to school, how far of a commute it is to the local grocery store, and what the owners of each home do for a living–the simple stuff in life. And, I guess that is the writer in me. Despite this, when it came to choosing colleges, I could not see myself going any farther than two hours away from my small, western New York hometown. Luckily, I found a place exactly two hours away that I will always call home, no matter where life takes me, and one that will hold a special place in my heart. My small, southern tier New York school helped me grow into the person I always wanted to become. It is because of this
